JOB SUMMARY: To lead and guide present teams at steel erection, provide required guidance & leadership to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the existing erection & installation operations, and be fully responsible for the department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage all activities associated with the erection & installation of structural steel projects. 
  • Ensure optimum utilization of resources in erection planning for all projects and ensure timeliness of project completion.
  • Ensure that all contractual terms and obligations of such projects are maintained.
  • Ensure projects meet cost requirements. 
  • Assure proper accounting for projects’ change orders.
  • Interfaces with necessary departments to determine the scheduling of work and materials.

  • Visit job sites as and when required. 
  • Conduct periodical erection review meetings and prepare MIS reports for management.
  • Meet with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Detailers, and Plant and Field staffs to verify accuracy and completeness of all erection drawings, if necessary.
  • Review plans and proposals and determines proper procedures in order to accomplish company as well as department’s goals.
  • Ensure all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented to ensure SSL's interests are protected.
  • Scrutinize and incorporate ‘Change Orders’ & Scope of Works as per clients’ requirements maintaining adequate financial justification.
  • Propose improvement schemes for enhancing current processes, control wastes & erection defects and maintain high quality standards as demanded by the clients.
  • Ensure safe transfer of fabricated materials to project sites form factory & manage appropriate material traceability systems at site.
  • Coordinate with QA & QC department in assessing the quality issues, conduct root-cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of already implemented ISO based Quality Management System in all operations and activities.
  • Coordinate to implement Health, Safety & Environmental Policies of the company and provide safety trainings to ensure all organization policies, rules and regulations are strictly followed and ensure all employees under your supervision are working in a safe environment.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants should be B.Sc in Civil Engineering with good academic record from any reputed University of Bangladesh.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • General knowledge of fabrication and erection standards and procedures including AISC standards and AWS D1.1 & D1.5 codes. 
  • Able to guide the team of erection engineers, officers, supervisors and technicians in steel structure.
  • Familiar with all aspects of steel structure erection including manpower & material planning, process optimization and adoption of industry best practices in PEB.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret shop and design blueprint drawings. 
  • Proven ability to manage large multiple commercial and industrial projects. 
  • General knowledge of 3D modeling / Tekla system. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting stringent deadlines. 
  • Be knowledgeable about safety practices and regulations.
  • Be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English & Bangla with the ability to work independently and in team environment.
  • Be able to meet the targets.

We are also the market leader in Bangladesh and are looking for a young and energetic Warehouse Officer-Finished Goods, reporting to the Plant Logistics Manager. The job will be based at Chittagong.

The purpose of the job is to supervise the warehouse and distribution operation, ensure timely delivery and logistics support, receipt and dispatch of goods/materials as per schedule, good coordination with manufacturing and customer service team, maintain inventory at warehouse with record, conduct physical inventory taking regularly and ensure properly, including HY and FY stock take, provide daily report to Supervisor and ensure health & safety issue in all activities.

The role will be primarily accountable for the followings:

• Receipt finished goods from finishing floor with proper inspection and storage. Finished Goods stocks receive & send to central Warehouse within the timeline.

• Supervise finished goods distribution to local customers including invoice acknowledgement. To make a good relationship with end customer including visit

• Liaison with transport service provider, C&F agent and labour supplier to ensure the smooth logistics service within the timeline.

• Communicate with planning team to reduce the inactive and dormant stocks from warehouse. Proper space utilization at warehouse and resource management.

• The damaged, dormant & return goods are regularly checked & taken its appropriate action.

• Daily cycle counting and stock reconciliation. Closely work with CWH team to resolve delivery discrepancies.

• Prepare few reports (Warehouse manning report, KPI report, Packer performance, Delivery man performance, Van utilization, Daily physically delivery status & Daily Warehouse activities status etc.)

• Ensure health & safety issue in all activities.




Qualifications:





• Graduation/Masters in any discipline from any reputed university. Engineering background will be given preference


• 2-3 years of inline experience


• Familiar with SAP (in WMS module) and excellent in MS Excel (should have advanced level knowledge).
