The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an
impartial, neutral and independent international organization striving
to protect and assist the victims of war and internal violence, has
been working in Bangladesh since 1971.The ICRC Dhaka delegation is
looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and motivated person for the
following position:
1. Position: EcoSec Field Officer
Department : Economic Security
Location : Dhaka with frequent field trips across the country
Starting date : As soon as possible
The Economic Security (EcoSec) Field Officer will be
working under the direct supervision and guidance of Deputy Head of
Delegation in Dhaka Delegation.
2. Responsibilities - The EcoSec Field Officer is mainly responsible for:
- Conduct needs assessment and design the livelihood
projects in cooperation with other ICRC departments and the Bangladesh
Red Crescent Society (BDRCS),
- Assist to implement or support the BDRCS to implement
the livelihood or relief programme, provide required technical support
to programme management in the field ,
- Supervise the implementation and monitoring of projects
supported by the ICRC in cooperation with BDRCS with frequent field
visits,
- Prepare the necessary progress reports of the programme,
- Handle the EcoSec programme management tools (EPMT) system that generates statistical reports in a regular basis.
- Draft and prepare necessary reporting documents (e.g.
Monthly, Quarterly reports) to share to BDRCS and other internal
reporting.
- Contribute to the preparation of project planning, budget and other necessary networking.
3. Professional Requirements
- Relevant academic background: the
candidate should have graduated from a reputed University in the field
of Economics, Rural Development, Rural Planning, Development Studies,
or Disaster Management.
- Work experience: Minimum 4 years work experience in project management that linked to livelihood and community support programme.
- Knowledge required: Socio-political/ Socio-economic Analysis, Livelihood Support Programme management, Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English and Bengali.
- Computer skills: Excellent and proven computer skills: MS Office.
- Other skills: Assessment, Evaluation, Analysis and Result Based Management
4. Personal Qualities
- Good oral and written communication skills, sense of
responsibility, good organizational skills, perseverance, rigor and
ability to keep a good spirit in stressful situations.
