suitable candidates for the position of “Team Leader” for its LIDL Chemical Management Project.
A. Responsibilities
The position holder is responsible for:
- The overall management of the project,
technical, content-related and organizational implementation of the
project.
In this context, the position holder fulfils the following tasks:
B. Tasks
1. Core scope of tasks
- Responsible for developing an approach towards this goal. This includes:
- Definition of a roadmap
- Provide technical support to factory
professionals on Chemical Management, especially on development of
chemical inventory, interpretation of Material Safety Data Sheet
(MSDS), etc.
- Provide support to develop a functional chemical management system in the factory
- Update factory management on recent innovations on Greener Chemistry/ Alternative Chemistry
- Provide technical advisory especially with regards
to chemical and water management including chemical use
at wet processing units (hot spot analyses) and sewage water
(waste/ sludge) treatment
- Define Manufacturing- and Restricted Substance List and set up a Green Chemical List
- Concept for multiplying standards, methods and learnings to the whole supply chain
2. Other duties/additional tasks
The position holder
- Managing the whole project, steering,
organizing and monitoring the project activities including drafting
plans for operations and managing the budget and leading the project
team, technical experts and consultants
C. Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in chemical engineering, environmental science, ecotoxicology, or other relevant fields
Professional experience
- Well conversant with local and regional standards on toxic chemicals (e.g. REACH, Brand RSL, ZDHC MRSL, etc.)
- Familiar with international certification on Chemical Use (e.g. OEKO TEX, GOTS, etc.)
- At least 10 years of experience of which 5
or more years of related experience in CSR, environmental management
in small and medium-sized enterprises, process engineering,
preferable in the textile sector.
- Experience as Team Leader in at least two long-term assignments
- Substantive knowledge of (i) textile wet processing, (ii) profitable environmental management, cleaner production
Other knowledge, additional competences
- Ability to interact in different cultural
and multi-stakeholder environments and to create good working
relationships at all levels.
- Working experience in Consulting to manufacturer, supplier and reseller
- Excellent verbal and written command of English is essential.
